The passing of a long-standing member, Howard 'Greg' Gregory

May 2020 - We are saddened to announce the passing of Howard Gregory, known to most of us as Greg.

Greg recently passed away following a hard-fought battle against kidney failure. Greg will always be remembered as a highly passionate and dedicated long-serving member. From the time Greg joined DorSAR in 2009 right up until a couple of years back, along with being an active Search Technician he selflessly provided his time and knowledge in the advancement of first aid skills across the entire membership.

Greg was highly principled, always standing up for what was right and for the ‘small guy’; you had better have been right if you were going to challenge him on something that he felt was wrong!

Many of us owe Greg a debt of gratitude for the development of our first-aid skills. His unique style of delivery aided retention and made his courses popular. With his partner Debbie in tow, the double act will remain synonymous with first aid training delivery within DorSAR.

Greg and Debbie were both made Honorary life members of DorSAR at the 2019 AGM in recognition of their services to DorSAR.
