BH Coastal Lottery

What is it?

BH Coastal Lottery was created in 2019 by Bournemouth Borough Council. Set up to support community projects in the local area, the BH Coastal Lottery operates on the principle of raising money within the community for the community. It is designed to empower local good causes to raise money in a fun and effective way. A ticket for the BH Coastal Lottery costs £1 per week and 60p will go directly to good causes!

How do we use the funds raised?

With careful management, it costs us about £25,000 per year to keep DorSAR running and be able to provide search capabilities when vulnerable people go missing in Dorset. Whilst we are able to apply for specific grants in order to purchase specialist equipment, other outgoings such as running costs, insurance and ongoing maintenance are often overlooked. We rely on funds raised through schemes such as the BH Coastal Lottery to pay for these ongoing costs.

By shopping through BH Coastal Lottery, you can help DorSAR: Maintain their control vehicle and Land Rover, pay for fuel to get those vehicles to an incident, fund uniform for a newly qualified search technician, and many more things.

How to play and support DorSAR

Step 1 - Go to the Website

Go to the BH Coastal Lottery Website on your web browser.

Step 2 - Selecting Dorset Search & Rescue

Click Buy Tickets and then search for Dorset Search and Rescue using the search box to the left.

Step 3 - Purchase and Register

From our page, you can now purchase your tickets. Remember that for every £1 spent, we will get 50p and another 10p is donated to the community pot for an equal share to all registered causes.

Step 4 - Playing Again

You can always return directly to the Dorset Search & Rescue lottery page by visiting https://www.bhcoastallottery.co.uk/support/dorset-search-and-rescue and then adding it to your bookmarks.
